Chen Qiufan (aka Stanley Chan), co-author of AI 2041: Ten Visions for Our Future, and author of Waste Tide, was a speaker at the Paris Peace Forum a couple weeks ago. I had been in touch with Stanley on social media, and he had agreed to do an episode of Imaginize.World suggesting we meet in person in Paris for our conversation.

The two strongest thoughts Stan triggered for me:

  • Will AI be able to reunite us as a species?
  • Is lack of purpose our biggest crisis today?

The ideas we discussed include AI replacing writers, our capital-led culture, the 8-to-5 dignity, the invisible people who sacrifice to support our society, and learning how to imagine. There’s so much more in our 80 minute conversation. You can discover the result of our wide-ranging conversation in the podcast and video here.

Please listen to our conversation when you have time. Then share your thoughts here. There’s so much to talk about!
